Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work within our Assistant Psychologist team alongside our dedicated Clinical Team at bMindful Psychology. This role shall be operating in Greater Manchester and the North West region. A Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
Job Summary
To contribute to the delivery of clinical services across a range of clients and settings. The role is primarily responsible for the initial assessment of young people within looked after children’s services, including the administration, scoring and writing up of psychological assessments. These duties will also be implemented across other client groups. Further to this, the role comprises the development and delivery of training sessions relevant to the needs of a particular service, and contribution to the online content produced by bMindful Psychology.
Key Responsibilities
* Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner psychologist, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of clinical services through administering, scoring and writing up assessments using standardised psychometric tools, questionnaires and structured checklists.
* Gathering narrative information about the child’s history and gathering resources to support the psychological care of children and young people.
* Administer and score psychological assessments of children and young people and write up reports based upon data from a variety of sources including psychometrics and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with the child, care team, school, social worker, family members and others involved in their care.
* To communicate in a highly skilled and sensitive manner with regards to the information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans for children and young people.
* To write reports and care plan documents of sufficient professional quality
* To liaise with schools, social workers, local CAMHS and other professionals involved with the child or young person.
* To take on other roles as delegated by the Clinical Director, as appropriate to the needs of the Company.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in psychology
* Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
* Experience of working with children and young people in a variety of settings
* Highly motivated and keen to develop knowledge and skills in applied psychology
