Benefits and Efficiencies Analyst – 32067
The Environment Agency is committed to an inclusive workforce and to reflecting the communities we serve. We are establishing a Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) focused on creating a centralised portfolio that drives change, transformation, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the team.
You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, help set the standards for benefits and value management, and support embedding them throughout delivery. You will help teams identify, value, and validate their project benefits.
You will be part of the PMO within the Transformation Team of the STA (Strategy, Transformation and Assurance) directorate. The Portfolio Management Office supports change, transformation, and continuous improvement across the business. STA fosters inclusive, supportive cultures and uses evidence and innovation to influence policy and delivery.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio.
* Help set standards for benefits and value management and assist in embedding them.
* Identify, value, and validate project benefits to support decision-making and risk management across change and transformation.
* Contribute to the shaping and optimisation of the project Portfolios to ensure strategic alignment and evidence-based delivery.
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Clear communication skills; able to explain complex analysis simply to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability; comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and actively consider diversity in work.
Additional Information
* You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan; appropriate training will be provided. The role is hybrid with an EA Office base; national travel and some overnight stays may be required.
