Job Title: Trauma Informed Practitioner
Location: Tamworth
Salary: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about supporting young people who have experienced trauma or adversity?

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate Trauma Informed Practitioners to work in schools across Tamworth.

As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will support students both academically and emotionally, helping them build trust, confidence, and positive relationships within the school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning caused by trauma, emotional challenges, or adverse childhood experiences.

Responsibilities of a Trauma Informed Practitioner:

* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with emotional and behavioural needs
* Support students affected by trauma, anxiety, or adverse childhood experiences
* Build trusting and positive relationships to encourage engagement and progress
* Implement trauma-informed approaches and behaviour support strategies
* Support students’ emotional regulation and social development
* Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals
* Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
* Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements of a Trauma Informed Practitioner:

* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or trauma-related needs is desirable
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively
* Experience in education, youth work, care, mental health, or support settings is beneficial
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
