OSPRI is the livestock sector’s integrated disease management and traceability agency and a critical part of New Zealand’s agribusiness and food economy. OSPRI currently manages three major national programmes: TBfree (directed at the eradication of bovine tuberculosis), M.bovisfree (directed at attaining freedom from M.bovis) and NAIT (National Animal Identification and Tracing System).

We are looking for a Manager, Partnerships to join our Service Delivery team. This role plays a key part in delivering OSPRI’s regional programme outcomes by leading relationships with Māori landowners, iwi, hapū, and agencies across the North Island.
Working closely with regional teams, national programme groups, and external stakeholders, you’ll build trust, foster collaboration, and ensure local perspectives are understood and incorporated into our planning and priorities. Your work will help keep OSPRI’s programmes nationally consistent, locally responsive, and grounded in strong relationships.
Day-to-day, you’ll guide long-term strategies for pest control across complex landscapes, lead engagement and partnership initiatives, and ensure OSPRI’s TBfree programme is delivered effectively and in line with our values.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with iwi, hapū, Māori land trusts, and key stakeholders.
Lead the development of long-term pest control strategies informed by the TB eradication plan.
Coach and develop peers to ensure the Partnership Approach has support and visibility within the organisation, and people can contribute to its success.
Lead and monitor partnership commitments within the required scope and budget of OSPRI partnership commitments.
Communicate OSPRI’s programmes in ways that resonate locally, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
Promote and uphold OSPRI’s values, diversity, and commitment to health and safety.
Kōrero mōu - About you:
We’re looking for someone who thrives on building strong relationships. Someone who is deeply connected to Te Ao Māori and confident in engaging with iwi, hapū, and within governance structures.
You’ll have proven experience navigating complex iwi landscapes, co-designing projects with Māori entities, and building trust-based relationships at senior levels. You’ll also be an excellent communicator, able to translate technical and operational concepts into language that resonates.
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
A relevant qualification in agriculture, applied science, environmental science, business, or resource management.
Deep understanding ofTe Ao Māori and proven ability toengage authenticallywith iwi, hapū, andiwi governance structures and Māori land trusts.
A strong understanding of pest control, biosecurity, or natural resource management in Aotearoa.
Leadership experience, including managing people, budgets, and strategy.
Political awareness and an understanding of Crown–Māori relationships and co-governance.
5+ years’ experience building relationships with iwi leaders and Māori organisations.
Ability to travel when the role requires.
