Locum Consultant Radiologist – Paediatric Imaging Closing date: 30 June 2026
Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking a Fixed Term Locum Consultant General Radiologist with a subspecialist interest in Paediatric Imaging. The role involves specialist reporting for acute and elective paediatric cases and working across both sites.
Responsibilities Provide specialist reporting for acute and elective paediatric cases. Share general reporting workload with colleagues. Lead and develop paediatric acute services. Collaborate on clinical quality improvement projects.
Qualifications MBBS / MBBCh and FRCR. Paediatric Imaging sub‑specialist training. Full GMC registration with a licence to practice at time of application. Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register. Formal teaching qualifications. Formal NHS leadership / management training.
Experience Clinical training equivalent to a UK CCT in general radiology. Independent reporting in paediatric sonography and plain film. Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate residents. Experience in a similar post and clinical leadership training. Basic IT skills and use of RIS and PACS. Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate caring attitude toward patients.
Contract Fixed term – 12 months Full‑time Salary: £113,565 to £150,569 a year (dependent on experience)
