The Diocese of York is the Church of England between the Rivers Humber and Tees, and from the Yorkshire coast westwards to around the A1. We are seeking to Live Christ’s Story (LCS) by becoming more like Christ, reaching people we currently don’t, growing churches of missionary disciples, and transforming our finances and structures. We have an exciting opportunity in our Education Team, to work closely with the Children and Youth Adviser in an assistant capacity. The post holder will focus primarily on the ‘Growing Younger’ strand within the Living Christ’s Story strategic development plan and this role would be supporting this workstream. Growing Younger is a key priority for the Church of England. This is a unique chance to make a significant and lasting contribution to the life of the Church — nurturing gifts, deepening vocations, and accompanying lay ministers on their journey from discernment through training and into deployment. About The Role The purpose of this role is to provide operational support for ministry among children, young people and their families throughout the Diocese so that children and young people grow in faith and their discipleship journey. The post holder will be a practitioner who has the skills to work with passion and vision and the ability to work with a variety of partners at parish level.
