Solicitor - Property

* Hourly Rate: £30.81
We are seeking a qualified Solicitor specializing in Property Law to join our Commercial Services team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal advice and services on land and property matters, ensuring lawful decision-making in accordance with the Council's governance frameworks, and supporting the Council's objectives through expert legal support.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
* Deliver legal advice and services in land and property law, including trusts, company law, and charity law within property contexts.
* Handle land and property transactions from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with the Council's Constitution and governance arrangements.
* Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, leases, and licenses, and prepare reports and presentations for Council officers and members.
* Conduct legal research and provide specialist advice on complex legal matters without supervision.
* Liaise with internal teams, external legal advisers, and government departments to coordinate legal services effectively.
* Update and maintain legal precedents and documentation to ensure compliance with statutory duties.
* Support and train Council officers on property-related legal matters to enhance their understanding and ensure informed decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of one year post-qualification experience in land/property law or commercial conveyancing.
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Proficient in IT with experience in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
* In-depth knowledge of property law and related legal areas such as company and charity law.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage tight deadlines.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
