Overview
Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) looking to join our multidisciplinary team? This unique post allows you to deliver an SLT service and support individuals with learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders (ASD), often accompanied by complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess communication needs in a range of environments.
* Implement therapeutic approaches based on assessment outcomes.
* Provide functional targets and recommendations to aid day‑to‑day communicative success.
* Work independently with individuals and support therapeutic approaches across the environment.
* Respond to referrals ensuring an inclusive communication environment is maintained.
* Complete audits and utilise the RCSLT 5 good communication standards.
* Contribute to service development and work effectively as part of the companywide SLT team.
About the Role
Role: Speech and Language Therapist
Hours: Term time, 40 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
Location: Cambian Wing College
Salary/Benefits: £33,443 per annum. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with increments for length of service). Full induction training, excellent clinical supervision, CPD and developmental opportunities.
Qualifications
* A degree or postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
* Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Experience working with individuals who have learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders.
* Experience or knowledge of AAC approaches (preferred).
Additional Information
You will receive full support from an onsite multidisciplinary team and participate in routine service meetings with companywide Speech and Language Therapists.
Applicants may be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and a passport/visa check. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and a Disclosure & Barring Service (CRB) check will be required.
