Dentist for Royal Caribbean Group
Provides comprehensive dental care to crew members and guests aboard ship, including preventive dentistry, emergency procedures, and dental hygiene education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dental services to all crew members and guests.
- Assist the Staff Captain and Senior Doctor with shipboard dental health matters.
- Conduct dental hygiene education and campaigns.
- Manage dental trauma and emergencies within onboard capabilities.
- Perform simple extractions, restorations, fillings and routine hygiene procedures.
- Assist in pain management, infection control, suturing of wounds, and aesthetic urgencies.
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of clinical experience in general dental care.
- Completion of a recognized dental training program (DDS or equivalent).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Three-year experience in simple extractions, restorations, fillings, and oral hygiene procedures.
- Experience managing pain, performing pulpectomy, incision and drainage of abscesses, suturing wounds, and infection control.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
Education
- Doctor of Dental Surgery or equivalent dental degree from a recognized institution.
- Active, current dental license in good standing in the country or state/province of origin.
- Completion of a recognized dental specialty training program in at least one of the following: General Dentistry, Dental Practice, or Endodontics.
- BLS training required.

Required Documents upon Boarding
- Dental school diploma or equivalent.
- Dental specialization diploma (if available).
- Professional license certificates valid for the contract duration.
- Documentation of required STCW training and basic safety certifications.
- Seaman's Book (Continuous Discharge Certificate).
