Consultant gi/ hpb radiologist (basé à london)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individualwith a specialist interest in diagnostic GI/HPB imaging to join the existing cohesive and dedicated team of 7 WTE consultant GI radiologists.

This is a post to replace retirement and to support the growing needs of faster diagnosis standards and improve turnaround times, while delivering comprehensive diagnostic HPB/GI and general radiology services to West London. The post will be based at The Hammersmith Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital, in part depending on need and subspecialty interest.

The successful applicants should have completed training in diagnostic radiology and be within 6 months of their CCT. They should have a specialist interest in Hepatobiliary/GI radiology.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent general emergency radiology skills and have extensive experience in all aspects of cross-sectional imaging, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, trauma imaging and plain film reporting.

In particular, imaging interpretation for tertiary level regional hepatology and hepatobiliary MDTs is sought, alongside the full range of complex upper and lower GI surgery. Imperial is also a renal transplant centre.

Sessions in acute reporting, general and sub-specialist reporting, fluoroscopy and ultrasound (general and specialist) will be expected but specific departmental services requiring support include:

* ·Benign and malignant hepatopancreaticobiliary MDTs.
* ·GI and general abdominopelvic fluoroscopic procedures
* ·Specialist ultrasound – ideally including procedural (biopsy/drainage). Contrast-enhanced skill-set also would be encouraged but not essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute sessions to the general work of the department, including duty “hot desk” reporting, Part of this could take the form of an extended day performing a general US list or acute cross sectional reporting session pending job plan negotiation.

During 2 sessions of SPA time, the postholder will be expected to contribute to the management, training and research activities of the department. The post will also contribute to the support of reporting radiographers.

Qualifications

·MB BS or equivalent

·FRCR or equivalent

·CCT (or within 6 months of date of interview) or on specialist register

·ILS training to be provided locally

Knowledge

·Formal subspecialty training in abdominal imaging specific to HPB/GI disease, and ability to report a variety of general radiology ultrasound, CT and MRI.

·Ability to perform diagnostic fluoroscopy pertaining to GI conditions

·Ability to report CT colonography studies.

·Ability to lead the radiology provision for speciality MDT’s

·Fellowship training in HPB/GI imaging.

·Tertiary centre HPB MDT experience.

·Image-guided biopsy and drainage.

* On GMC’s register with a Licence to Practice or eligible to apply for GMC registration and a Licence to Practice
* On GMC’s Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interviews or eligible for specialist registration
* Appropriate Royal College of Radiologist Membership

Knowledge/ Skills

* Formal subspecialty training in abdominal imaging specific to HPB/GI disease, and ability to report a variety of general radiology ultrasound, CT and MRI.
* Ability to perform diagnostic fluoroscopy pertaining to GI conditions.
* Ability to report CT colonography studies.
* Ability to lead the radiology provision for speciality MDT’s
