As our SIU Team Leader you’ll manage a team of intelligence staff responsible for tactical, strategic, and operational services to support serious and organised crime. You’ll guide and mentor staff, ensuring coordination of intelligence services, helping to protect our communities and bring criminals to justice. EMSOU is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces. We focus on intelligence gathering and the disruption of the most serious crimes. The work is varied, the threats we face continually evolve and our approaches change in response. We recognise operational success depends on the skills, attitude, and commitment of our people. Please note this role is for a Substantive Sergeant – either Detective (PIP2) or Police Sergeant. What you'll be doing: Directing an intelligence team in a high-pressured, hight risk operational environments across the East Midlands. You’ll be providing intelligence support to operational investigations by planning and coordinating intelligence Deliver and review collection plans and commission intelligence products to support effective policing. The must haves: Experience of managing and developing intelligence Able to motivate and manage a team, prioritising workloads to meet changing demands Understand legislation and procedure associated with the investigation of serious and organised crime i.e. RIPA, IPA, PACE, CPIA, POCA You must hold a National Vocational Qualification level 3 in Management and Leadership and/or IPP Accreditation or be prepared to work towards these. This role requires regular access to sensitive material, and you must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, if you do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.
