Key Tasks: Accountable for all operational results (Safety, Quality, Velocity & Cost) from start of production build to finished goods shipment. Reporting and delivering all KPIs which drive manufacturing operations to continuously improve, ensuring the Production Supervisors develop, maintain & control KPI data & visual management boards. Ensure that robust planning and control techniques are established and maintained in respect of all manufacturing activities, including co-ordination with related services/departments. Consult with the materials department on known/expected delivery of materials and bought in items. Determine any special arrangements for forward planning and potential difficulties within the build process. In conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineering optimise the manufacturing operations & support processes to consistently deliver improvements on business & financial metrics. Lead role in the development and implementation of Company Strategy and introduction of lean methodologies. In conjunction with the Central Maintenance function ensure that the overall facility is maintained to support effective operations. Determine appropriate level and competency of staff and ascertain training needs in line with the future needs of the business and its strategies. Through the Production Supervision, ensure that all employees are fully conversant and compliant with the company's Quality Assurance & Health, Safety and Environmental policies. Enhance communication & trust with all staff, negotiating with a works committee when and where necessary. Review & prepare for capital expenditure proposals that support the strategic goals of the company. Ensure that working conditions and environments create the opportunity to maximise efficient performance and minimise the employee turnover. To ensure all staff receive annual appraisal and performance objectives and ensure these are at appropriate levels.
