Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Planning Engineer. The Supply Chain Planning Engineer in the Marine Product Group will manage and translate key account forecasts into actionable plans for factory scheduling, dealer alignment, and business planning through cross-functional collaboration.


What You Will Do:

* Maintain an understanding of key accounts’ rolling 18-month forecast.

* Understand customer priorities and translate forecast data into actionable insights for factory supply planning, dealer order alignment, & business planning with demand teams and senior leadership

* Integrate key account forecasts into the commercial sales pipeline and support dealer S&OP meetings to align customer demand with dealer order boards, while facilitating order pipeline adjustments in accordance with factory policies.

* Maintain strong understanding of Caterpillar marine engine factory processes and policies.

* Collaborate with facility schedulers to align key account orders with required timelines.

* Analyze data to identify and prioritize opportunities for performance improvement, cost-effective supply chains, inventory optimization and stronger business partnerships.


Degree Requirement:

Degree or equivalent experience desired

* Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.

Provides examples of project data that is tracked.
Identifies deliverables, resources and dependencies in project plans.
Demonstrates a basic understanding of organizational project management practices and tools.

* Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.
Level Basic Understanding: Compiles current research relevant to standard operating procedures.
Explains usage of standard operating procedures in business operations.
Describes main issues and considerations when using standard operating procedures.
Identifies key features and functions of standard operating procedures.

* Conflict Management: Knowledge of managing conflicts; ability to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level.
Level Working Knowledge: Identifies and maximizes areas of agreement in order to mitigate tensions.
Uses a specific methodology for conflict resolution.
Facilitates reconciliation rather than divisiveness among individuals.
Under guidance, appropriately confronts others to get issues out in the open.
Uses active listening skills and probing techniques to understand cause of a conflict.

* Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials, components and supplies, and delivery of finished products.
Level Working Knowledge: Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.
Describes applications and technologies used to manage supply chain.
Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
Interprets walk-throughs of the consumption stream and associated provision stream.
Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.


Additional Information:

* Travel will be expected up to 25% of the time.
* This position is a fully onsite work model.
