About The Organisation
As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland's mission is to be integral to a world leading health service, supporting Scotland's health. The Central Legal Office (CLO), as part of NHS National Services Scotland, operates a department-based structure, covering Commercial Property, Commercial Contracts, Employment, and Litigation. Each team within those departments comprises experienced solicitors and support staff committed to delivering a responsive and cost-effective service to clients across NHS Scotland and the wider public sector.
The Post
Due to the way NHS Scotland roles are graded, a single generic job description for a litigation solicitor is used by CLO for all solicitor recruitments. Therefore, elements not related to the CLO Commercial Property Department should be disregarded. This position is specifically for a Commercial Property solicitor.
The Candidate
You will be a solicitor with extensive experience advising on commercial property matters. You will join a department that provides comprehensive commercial property services to NHS Scotland and the wider public sector. Experience within NHS or the public sector is advantageous. You should be capable of managing your workload independently and dealing with clients at various seniority levels.
Additional Requirements
The successful candidate must undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. If you have lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the past 5 years, a criminal record check from the relevant overseas agency will be required. Details on how to apply for or update PVG Scheme membership/disclosure will be provided to successful applicants.
Location and Working Pattern
Gyle Square, Edinburgh. Currently hybrid working; attendance at least once a week is preferred. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Candidates must reside within the UK for the duration of employment.
Benefits
Our benefits include a pension scheme, work-life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resources, and discounts on leisure, financial, and shopping benefits. Further details are available in the HR Benefits Brochure.
Inclusion
NHS NSS is committed to diversity and inclusion, promoting flexible working, staff health and well-being, and offering development opportunities.
