Recruitment Manager
Shrewsbury | Full-Time | £30,000 + Bonus
About Us
We are a family-run UK outdoor education provider operating multiple residential activity centres across the country. We are the largest independent provider in the sector and the second largest overall in the UK.
Each year we deliver residential programmes for thousands of school students and employ over 150 seasonal and permanent staff across instructing, catering, maintenance and support roles.
Recruitment is central to our success, particularly ahead of peak seasonal periods. This role will take full ownership of recruitment across the business from our Shrewsbury head office.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced recruiter to lead hiring across all sites.
We recruit over 150 staff each year across instructors, catering, maintenance and operational roles. It's high-volume, seasonal and fast-moving. You'll need to be organised, commercially minded and comfortable managing multiple vacancies at once.
You will report directly to senior leadership.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing end-to-end recruitment across all sites
* Writing and managing job adverts (Indeed and other platforms)
* Screening, interviewing and progressing candidates
* Forecasting hiring needs with site managers
* Tracking recruitment performance and reporting results
* Improving recruitment processes where needed
We also expect this role to develop external recruitment channels, including:
* Building relationships with colleges and universities
* Working with careers advisors and job centres
* Developing links with employment agencies where appropriate
* Attending recruitment events where beneficial
This is a hands-on role. You will be actively recruiting every day.
Bonus Structure
You will receive £50 for every employee who reaches 3 months' service.
This rewards quality hires, not just volume.
Based on last year's figures, this would have added approximately £5,000 to salary.
What We're Looking For
* Previous recruitment experience (agency or in-house)
* Comfortable working in a high-volume environment
* Strong organisational skills
* Confident communicator
* Able to build external relationships
This role suits someone who wants responsibility and autonomy.
