We are partnered with a rapidly expanding, PE backed distribution business in their search for a Finance Manager for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to start at the end of May.
The role is office based in Stockport, 5 days per week in the office.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing business in a hands-on and commercially driven role, working as part of a supportive finance team of 6.
As Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of core financial operations and play a key role in delivering accurate reporting, disciplined financial control, and meaningful analysis for leadership. You’ll lead month-end and year-end processes, develop management reporting packs, and provide insight that supports strategic and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Leading month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong financial governance.
• Producing, develop, and continually enhance monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, and variance analysis.
• Creating clear, insightful management reporting packs that highlight trends, risks, performance drivers, and opportunities for improvement.
• Delivering financial analysis to support decision-making across operations, commercial teams, supply chain, and senior leadership.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring assumptions are robust, documented, and aligned with business plans.
• Overseeing cashflow management, maintaining clear visibility of working capital movements, liquidity, and cash forecasting.
• Maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and audit requirements.
• Managing and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards, accuracy, and effective workload prioritisation.
• Partnering with cross-functional leaders to interpret financial performance and provide recommendations that drive efficiency and growth.
• Identifying process improvements and automation opportunities to increase reporting accuracy, reduce manual tasks, and strengthen control.
• Support ad-hoc analysis and financial modelling, enabling scenario planning and informed strategic decisions.
About You:
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE with proven finance management
experience, with strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with month-end and year-end
disciplines
• Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality management accounts and insightful analysis
• Confident communicator able to simplify financial information for non-finance stakeholders
• Detail-focused, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth environment
• Strong systems capability with the ability to challenge, improve, and streamline processes
