This is a visible role, combining site visits with flexible working. You’ll work across the 8 Hills area as part of the 8 Hills team located across the National Trust office at Hagley and Bournville Village Trust office, but with hybrid working your time will be a combination of working from our NT properties being out and about on site and working from home. You'll have a dynamic working week and will need to travel throughout the area for meetings.Driving habitat restoration and species recovery across the Eight Hills, with an initial focus on Bournville Village Trust’s landholding. This includes providing ecological leadership across projects and planning, and representing the National Trust in regional collaborations that support nature recovery.Supporting farm tenants to adopt nature-positive, low-carbon, and future-ready farming approaches. This involves offering guidance, technical advice, and advocacy to enable transitions into appropriate agri-environment schemes such as CSHT and EWCO, while also shaping farm tenancy and grazing plans that deliver nature recovery at scale.Designing and implementing monitoring plans and leading ecological assessments to ensure measurable impact, including habitat condition, biodiversity net gain (BNG), and species management outcomes. This also includes managing contracts and championing restoration programmes that create lasting, quantifiable change in partnership with farmers, landowners, and external stakeholders.Building strong, collaborative learning partnerships with regional and national colleagues, farmers, and partner organisations to drive innovation, share best practice, and support long-term ecological recovery.The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time: as our ambitious new strategy “People and Nature Thriving” sets out how we will restore nature at scale to create 250,000 hectares of nature-rich habitats within and beyond the National Trust landholdings across England, Wales and Northern Ireland by 2035.
