Job Opportunity: Domestic Assistant (HealthcareCleaner) Location: North Devon District Hospital Hours: 14 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday. 17.00 - 20.30) Pay Rate: £12.51 – £22.89 per hour About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Domestic Assistant(Healthcare Cleaner) to join our team at NorthDevon District Hospital. You will play a key role in ensuring patients,staff, and visitors experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at alltimes. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine and ad-hoc cleaning duties in line with national cleanliness standards and Trust policies. Maintain a hygienic, safe patient environment, helping to minimise the risk of healthcare-associated infections. Empty and dispose of domestic and clinical waste according to infection prevention policies. Replenish consumables (soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, etc.). Operate cleaning equipment safely, following COSHH and PPE requirements. Communicate courteously with patients, staff, and visitors, always providing a professional and caring service. Work flexibly across different hospital areas when required. What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a cleaning or domestic role (healthcare setting desirable). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate, respectful, and professional approach to patients and colleagues. Good communication and customer service skills. Physically able to carry out cleaning duties, including moving equipment and light furniture. High personal hygiene standards. A satisfactory criminal record check is required forthis position.
