Overview
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee CCTV Drainage Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in drainage surveying with full training provided. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to carry out CCTV surveys, assess conditions, identify defects, and support maintenance and repair strategies.
As a CCTV Drainage Engineer, You Will
* Assist in operating CCTV equipment to inspect foul and surface water drainage systems
* Work in line with standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines
* Receive training to use industry‑standard software (e.g. WinCan) for reports and condition assessments
* Support in identifying drainage issues such as blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingress
* Work under the guidance of senior engineers to understand survey requirements and data collection methods
* Help maintain and check equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations
* Be trained in confined space entry procedures and work safely as part of a team (training and certification provided)
* Assist in emergency response situations where drainage issues or flooding occur
* Learn how to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) with supervision
About You
* Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)
* A strong interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineering
* A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Basic computer skills and a desire to learn new software
