Main duties of the job
The department in Hull Royal Infirmary operates a subspecialist system of reporting serviced by teams of consultants. The Histopathologist Team at York Hospitals reports a wide range of histopathology samples and provides specialist input at MDTs. SHYPS is partnering with the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC) to implement and deploy digital pathology in the near future. The department supports working from home and hopes to offer greater flexibility in the future.

We seek Consultant Histopathologists who are interested in joining a supportive, cohesive and committed team of consultants at our purpose-built facility at Hull Royal Infirmary.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* FRCPath or equivalent qualification.
* Full registration and a licence to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC).
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date within 6 months of interview) or CESR.
* Hold a medical degree.
Desirable
* Postgraduate thesis.
* Relevant higher degree.
Experience
Essential
* Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in cellular pathology.
Desirable
* Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
* Experience of participation in regular clinical audit.
* Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances.
* Experience as a Consultant Histopathologist working in the UK.
