Job Description
The key responsibilities for the Finance Assistant role are:
3. Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices and payments.
4. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
5. Provide support for monthly reconciliations and reporting activities.
6. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
7. Respond to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.
8. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and organisational policies.
9. Support the accounting team with administrative duties as required.
10. Contribute to the smooth running of the finance department in Southampton.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Assistant should have:
11. Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in the not-for-profit industry.
12. A good understanding of financial processes and procedures.
13. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
14. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
15. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
16. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
