CNC Miller – Setter/Trainee Programmer
Leeds | £16 per hour (rising to £18.40 on back shift) | Permanent
We're supporting a long-established precision engineering business in Leeds looking for a CNC Miller Setter with Fanuc controls who's ready to develop into a programming role. This is a genuine training and progression opportunity - you'll start on days while learning programming, then move to the back shift once you're at programmer level.
The Role:
Setting and operating CNC milling machines (Fanuc Controls Essential)
Learning CNC programming with structured training and support
Producing high-precision components to tight tolerances
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Performing in-process inspection to maintain quality standards
Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams
Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area
What We're Looking For:
Proven CNC milling setting experience
Fanuc control experience (essential)
Keen to learn and develop programming skills
Confidence working from technical drawings
Proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement
Ability to work independently once trained
What's on Offer:
£16 per hour on day shift during training period
£18.40 per hour (15% uplift) once moved to back shift as a programmer
