Job Title: Support Worker Location: Southport (PR8) Reports to: Senior Carer / Nurse-in-Charge / Home Manager Salary: Up to £13 per hour Job Purpose: To provide compassionate, person-centred care and support to residents within a care home setting. This includes assistance with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being and dignity of every resident. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for travelling between services or supporting community-based activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming based on each resident's individual care plan. Assist with mobility and use of mobility aids, promoting safe movement and comfort. Support residents during mealtimes with food preparation, serving, and feeding where required. Administer or prompt medication (if trained and authorised), and accurately maintain medication records including EMAR systems. Accompany residents to medical appointments, social outings, or community activities using your own vehicle if needed. Observe and report changes in residents physical or mental health to senior care staff. Engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities to reduce isolation and improve emotional well-being. Maintain accurate care documentation and daily logs in line with policies and CQC standards. Ensure infection control, cleanliness, and health & safety guidelines are followed at all times. Promote residents' privacy, dignity, independence, and rights in every aspect of care. Requirements: Previous experience in care or support work is desirable. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it) preferred. Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Kind, empathetic, and reliable with a genuine passion for helping others. Flexible and willing to work a range of shifts including evenings and weekends. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
