* Annual Salary: £24,796 - £26,824 for 37 hours per week

Join our dedicated maintenance team in Horshamas a School Caretaker, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and securing the school premises. This position offers a dynamic working environment, covering a variety of maintenance tasks and ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming atmosphere for both students and staff.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to provide professional service ensuring the school premises are well-maintained, secure, and fit for purpose.
* Work across a shift roster covering days, evenings, and weekends to provide general maintenance services and act as an on-site contact for school activities and community lettings.
* Contribute to the school’s planned preventive maintenance program, assist with general inspections, repairs, and manual handling tasks such as minor plumbing and changing light bulbs.
* Maintain the security of the school premises by managing access points and monitoring security systems including CCTV.
* Engage in grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and general landscaping following appropriate training.
* Handle setup and dismantling of equipment for school and community events, ensuring all setups meet the required standards.
* Shift patterns required from 7am to 9pm 7 days per week with two days off as per the Rota – working 1 in 3 weekends
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* GCSEs including Maths and English, with basic computer skills.
* Experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a school or industrial environment.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations with a willingness to apply them in the workplace.
* Capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
* A full clean driving licence is desirable.
