The Grants and Project Development Manager plays a vital role in delivering both our core work and innovative projects. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and managing the Trusts Officer, this role is central to our income strategy—securing high-value grants.
This exciting role involves developing, writing, and coordinating compelling funding bids, working closely with teams across the organization to shape fundable, impactful projects aligned with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Income Generation:
o Achieve annual high-value grant income targets (£25,000+).
o Develop and coordinate high-quality grant applications, ensuring deadlines and roles are clear.
o Plan funding needs strategically with the fundraising team.
o Identify and communicate match funding needs early.
o Record all applications on the Trust database.
o Support business-as-usual income generation through grant applications.
o Line manage the Grants Officer.
2. Project Development:
o Support cross-organizational bids and project concepts.
o Develop detailed budgets for projects and funding applications.
o Assess and report on project funding milestones and pipelines.
o Maintain an overview of current and planned project funding.
o Create strategic, cross-income stream funding plans.
3. Relationship Development:
o Research and identify new grant opportunities.
o Develop and maintain relationships with funders, in coordination with the Grants Officer.
o Stay informed about UK conservation funding trends and innovations.
