The successful candidate will be fundamental in ensuring the division is able to demonstrate a robust governance framework, underpinned by learning and innovation. Working collaboratively with teams across the organisation, the post holder will provide facilitation, informative resources and be a point of contact for quality assurance of safe and effective care. The objective is to embed excellence in care and practice as we continue to work towards an outstanding CQC rating. Responsible for working with the central quality team on the implementation of PSIRF and its principles. Taking prime responsibility in embedding it in the north division sites - this includes training for the staff as instructed and led by the central quality team. Main duties of the job The role will be based at City Road site with the expectation that the post holder will travel between the north division network sites as necessary. The north division sites include : Northwick Park, Ealing, Potters Bar, Brent Cross Shopping Centre, St Anns, Stratford, Barking and Bedford - these may be subject to change in line with service development and the site strategy • Within a structure of increasingly decentralised and devolved quality and safety management, the post-holder will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of key quality and safety initiatives and improvements within a designated clinical division(s). • The post-holder will work closely with the divisional management team and central Quality and Safety team to ensure that the highest standards of quality and safety are achieved. • The post holder will also facilitate that quality and safety is an integral part of the divisional work plan, whilst at the same time ensuring that plans are aligned fully with those of the organisation, led by the central Quality and Safety team. An integral part of the role is helping the multi-disciplinary teams to identify and disseminate shared learning for quality improvement and ensuring consistency between satellite sites and the rest of the organisation. • The post holder may also be required to attend network sites that are not managed by the division to be part of peer review teams. Job responsibilities • To maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. • To be fully involved in the roll out of PSIRF across the divisional sites. • To be a local expert in quality and to lead and drive the quality agenda within the division. • To work closely with and support the head of nursing, as well as divisional directors, and divisional manager for all quality and safety issues. • To ensure close liaison and working between divisions and the Central Quality and Safety team. • To develop and embed the quality governance framework within the division, including the divisional quality forum, divisional board and local performance meetings. • To develop and deliver local quality training which aligns with the central vision and is consistent with other divisions. • To represent the division advising on quality issues where required. • To lead on the production of themes and trends of quality data within divisions with analysis and supporting recommendations for change, including for presentation at clinical governance half days across the network. • To lead on developing a learning culture across the division by sharing learning from incidents, audits and any other quality and safety indicators. • To lead the development and implementation of the quality dashboards and any other quality reports in preparation for monthly/quarterly divisional meetings by undertaking any necessary analysis. Also following meetings to ensure improvement actions are taken forward and delivered. • To assist with completion of organisational quality performance reports, through the inclusion of division specific information and to lead on the delivery of local report. Central/Strategic • To contribute to the delivery of the trusts objectives on quality, safety and governance and to ensure delivery of the trusts 5 year strategy, the Vision of Excellence. • To contribute to the delivery of national standards and external requirements for all aspects of quality. • To be actively involved in the development and delivery of all systems for quality, safety, audit and governance. • To work closely with the Head of Clinical Governance, Head of Risk and Safety, Head of Patient Experience and Head of Quality and Safety to ensure that central and divisional priorities are aligned. • To share current challenges and good practice with other quality partners across the network. • To support Clinical Governance half days (both organisational and within divisions), ensuring appropriate timings and agendas, appropriate meeting formats, meetings are properly documented and that actions are agreed and completed. Education and Qualification Essential • Educated to degree level • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent level of knowledge Desirable • Relevant clinical professional qualification • MSc or working towards Masters Experience Essential • Experience and working knowledge of patient safety and risk management and clinical audit • Experience of working in the NHS • Experience of investigations and analysis Desirable • Evidence of participation in quality improvement projects • Previous experience of working as part of a quality and safety team Knowledge Essential • Working knowledge of the application of risk management systems and techniques • Knowledge of quality systems and development of quality KPIs • Knowledge of Information Governance and compliance, regulatory and governance frameworks
