We have a fantastic opportunity to join the team in Derby as Warehouse Manager. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this is a key leadership role on site, as such it will be one of the first.
Your initial focus will be a journey of discovery. Working alongside our automation providers and in-house systems team to develop knowledge of how the site is to operate. Secondly, you will recruit your wider team who will start the journey of opening up our new purpose-built frozen facility in early 2026.
This initiative is a key part of our growth strategy, aimed at expanding our supply chain to meet the needs of our growing number of shops across the UK.

About the role
* This is a full-time role, with flexibility considered based on role needs
* We promote work-life balance and offer flexibility where possible
* The base location is Derby Smartparc, DE21 7BS; ideally, you’ll live within an hour’s travel
What you'll do
* Recruit and lead the operational warehouse team
* Coordinate with automation partners during commissioning and operation
* Embed the Greggs culture and values
* Ensure customer service excellence in logistics operations
* Maintain safety, quality, and compliance standards
* Manage budget and control costs
* Develop and implement policies and procedures
* Conduct performance reviews and support team development
* Lead with visibility, fostering achievement and responsibility
About you
If you:
* Are a strong team player and relationship builder
* Have a proven track record of customer service excellence
* Can multitask and prioritize calmly under pressure
* Possess strong planning, organization, and IT skills (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, etc.)
* Are self-motivated, proactive, and analytical
* Communicate clearly at all levels
* Support an inclusive culture
* Have experience with SAP/MRP in a warehouse environment (desirable)
* Have experience with automated warehouses (desirable)
* Have experience in start-up projects (desirable)
