A well-established nursery in Lockerbie is looking for an enthusiastic Childcare Practitioner to join their dedicated team. What You'll Be Doing Care & Education: Provide outstanding care and create a safe, stimulating environment where children thrive Plan and deliver engaging activities (indoors and outdoors) that encourage development, independence, and learning through play Act as a key worker for a group of children, monitoring their progress and keeping detailed profiles up to date Follow the Curriculum for Excellence and Birth to Three guidance Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, recognising them as their children's main educators Support children with personal care, including nappy changing and potty training Team Collaboration: Participate in weekly planning sessions and contribute to the nursery's self-evaluation processes Work closely with Early Years professionals and attend partnership meetings Maintain excellent communication with children, parents, and colleagues at all times Health & Safety: Take shared responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment Complete daily health and safety checks and cleaning rotas Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and emergency protocols What We're Looking For SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or HNC Early Education and Childcare Genuine passion for working with babies and young children Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships Team player who can also work on their own initiative Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and equality of opportunity Flexibility to meet the needs of the service Personal Qualities: Caring, sensitive, and enthusiastic Professional, punctual, and reliable Strong record-keeping and written skills Eager to contribute to continuous improvement What's On Offer Excellent rate of pay at £14.36 an hour Ongoing professional development and training opportunities (including mandatory training) Regular appraisals and one-to-one meetings to support your career growth The chance to make a lasting impact on children's early years Supportive, friendly team environment Ready to Apply?
