Process Safety / Health and Safety Manager
SRG are currently recruiting for a Process Safety / Health and Safety Manager for a successful and growing manufacturing client based in the Manchester area.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and own the Process Safety Management System (PSMS) aligned with UK law and standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
* Lead HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA studies and define/verify Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF/SIL)
* Drive compliance with DSEAR and implement robust safety measures.
Health & Safety Leadership
* Ensure all site activities are conducted safely, maintaining zero TIR
* Own site risk assessments, SOPs, and integrate with training/competence matrices
* Govern Permit-to-Work systems and ensure effective LOTO
* Lead accident investigations using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
* Manage contractor control and CDM 2015 duties for projects.
* Oversee the engineering team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
* Ensure preventative maintenance and mandatory checks for equipment reliability
* Utilise CMMS for planned maintenance and KPI reporting.
About you
* NEBOSH Diploma (or NVQ Level 6) and IOSH/BOHS membership (GradIOSH/CMIOSH)
* Chartered status or working towards it & Engineering degree (desirable)
* Proven leadership in HSE and process safety within a regulated or high-hazard environment
* Strong knowledge of DSEAR, process safety, and engineering best practices
* Competence in HAZOP/LOPA, ATEX zoning, and permit-to-work systems
* Incident investigation expertise and evidence of delivering risk-reducing improvements.
