Teaching Assistant - Pathway to SCITT Teacher Training
Outstanding Primary School - Haringey - ASAP Start

Are you an aspiring teacher looking to gain hands-on classroom experience? Do you want to join a supportive primary school with a clear pathway to SCITT teacher training? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Long Term Futures, a leading education recruitment agency, is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted Outstanding primary school in Haringey immediately after the Easter break. This full-time role will run for the remainder of the academic year, with the opportunity to progress onto the school's SCITT teacher training programme in September.


Key Details:

1. Role: Teaching Assistant
2. Location: Outstanding primary school in Haringey with excellent transport links and on-site parking
3. Start Date: ASAP after the Easter break
4. Duration: Until the end of the academic year, with a SCITT teacher training opportunity from September
5. Pay Rate: £100 - £120 per day


The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2, helping them to develop their confidence, learning skills, and engagement in the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring teacher to gain first-hand experience before embarking on a SCITT teacher training programme in September.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:

1. Supporting class teachers with planning and lesson delivery
2. Providing one-on-one or small group interventions to boost learning
3. Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
4. Assisting with assessments and tracking student progress
5. Encouraging student engagement and fostering a love for learning


What We Are Looking For:

1. A passion for education and a desire to become a teacher
2. Experience working with children (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, teaching assistant roles, youth work)
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills
4. A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning support
5. A degree (preferred but not essential)
