Monday to Friday inclusive - 5.15pm until 7.30pm
The Domestic Assistants are to ensure a clean environment for patient care in accordance with health and safety requirements, NHS National Specification of Cleaning Standards, and COSHH.
Main duties of the job
Duties
* Vacuum cleaning, damp mopping of floors, damp dusting of furniture/fittings, cleaning of mirrors and internal glass, sanitary ware (e.g., sinks, toilets), washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork, high dusting of walls and ceilings, floor maintenance, etc.
* Safely empty and clean all clinical and commercial waste bins, secure and transport waste safely to the designated waste disposal area.
* Carry out periodic cleaning according to the required schedule.
* Correctly and safely use equipment necessary to provide the service.
* Ensure all equipment used in duties is cleaned regularly and maintained safely.
* Supply and replenish consumables (e.g., paper towels, toilet tissue) while controlling cleaning stock levels to meet customer needs.
* Adhere to the NHS national colour coding system for work undertaken, as detailed in the Domestic Assistant Manual.
* Remove and label faulty equipment, notify the supervisor, and record any damage to the building fabric.
* Ensure all equipment and materials are used and stored safely in compliance with COSHH.
* Ensure the building or work area is secure upon leaving (windows, doors, exits).

* Store and use equipment and materials safely following COSHH guidelines.
* Ensure the premises are secure when leaving.
