George Salter Academy are seeking to appoint a motivated and organised STEAM Technician (37 hours per week, term-time plus 1 week) to support our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) departments. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic secondary school environment, helping to deliver engaging and practical learning experiences for students ages 11-18. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing equipment, maintaining resources and supporting staff and students during practical lessons and projects.


Key responsibilities

* Prepare and set up equipment, materials and resources for STEAM lessons and practical activities
* Provide technical support to teaching staff during lessons, demonstrations and projects
* Ensure equipment is maintained, cleaned and stored safely
* Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in all practical activities


We are looking for someone who

* Is organised, practical and able to manage multiple tasks
* Has good communication and teamwork skills
* Is confident working with equipment and tools
* Has an understanding of health and safety in practical environments
* Previous experience of working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
