We employ over 250 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland. We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience and professional development opportunities within the construction industry. You will work closely with our experienced Quantity Surveyors, learning the skills and knowledge required to manage costs and contracts effectively across a range of projects.\n\nWe are keen to discuss these roles with recent school leavers, individuals already studying towards a relevant degree or recent and upcoming graduates. \n\nRole & Responsibilities\n\nWorking closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors/Commercial Managers the successful candidates will:\n\nâ¢\tAssist a team of surveyors within the company.\nâ¢\tWork closely with Contracts Management and Estimating departments.\nâ¢\tTake an active role in our Supply Chain Management Initiative to ensure relationships are developed with subcontractors.\nâ¢\tAssisting in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.\nâ¢\tSupporting the management of contracts, including preparing tender documents and contracts.\nâ¢\tWorking with the project team to ensure costs are controlled and value is maximized throughout the project lifecycle.\nâ¢\tAssisting with the measurement and valuation of works, including preparing bills of quantities.\nâ¢\tParticipating in site visits and liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers.\nâ¢\tPreparing and submitting regular reports on project progress and financial status.\nâ¢\tLearning and applying relevant construction laws, regulations, and standards.\nâ¢\tSupporting the resolution of any contractual and commercial issues that may arise.\n Candidate\n\nThe successful candidate will have:\n\nâ¢\tA strong academic background, with a focus on mathematics.\nâ¢\tThe ability to solve problems by acting on their own initiative.\nâ¢\tBe IT literate with excellent knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel)\nâ¢\tBe self-motivated and proactive.\nâ¢\tA positive attitude and the ability to integrate and play an active part in our project teams.\nâ¢\tFully embracing our Customersâ 1st campaign to continually improve the way we deal with our customers.\n\nWhy work for us?\n\nAt Clark Contracts Ltd, we offer more than just a job.
