Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: East Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary, fixed-term
Salary: £95 – £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Vision for Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in East Yorkshire to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a temporary fixed-term role, starting as soon as possible.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced HLTA to work within the school’s Inclusion Area, which incorporates a Nurture Provision. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural support to succeed within a secondary school environment.
The Role
As a HLTA, you will support both learning and wellbeing, working closely with pupils and staff to create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering targeted interventions and small group support
2. Supporting pupils within the Inclusion and Nurture Provision
3. Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
4. Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
5. Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
6. Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have equivalent experience
7. Have experience working in an inclusion, nurture, or SEN setting
8. Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills
9. Be patient, resilient, and empathetic in approach
10. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
