SEND Teacher – Complex & SEMH Needs – Wigan – Step Teachers Start: January 2026 or earlier Pay: Up to £230/day for first 12 weeks, MPS SEN1 from 13th week (ECTs welcome) Hours: Full-time | Mon–Fri | 8:30am–3:30pm Contract: Temp-to-Perm We’re working with a dynamic specialist high school in Wigan that supports young people aged 11–19 with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism, social and emotional challenges, and associated additional needs. The school provides a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that focuses on personal development, emotional wellbeing, and preparing pupils for life beyond school. As a SEN Teacher, you’ll take responsibility for a small secondary-age class, delivering a highly personalised curriculum that balances academic learning with life skills, communication, and social development. You’ll use creative, flexible approaches to engage students working at a wide range of ability levels, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of achievement. You’ll work closely with specialist support staff, pastoral leads, and external professionals to ensure every young person receives consistent, holistic support.
