Full-time permanent role coordinating road freight operations and warehouse logistics within a busy operations team
Based in Redditch, Worcestershire, with modern office and warehouse facilities
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage daily bookings for UK and European road transport freight
* Handle both import and export customs clearance documentation
* Oversee warehouse operations, including stock control, goods in/out and customer updates
* Operate forklift equipment for vehicle loading and unloading (training provided if required)
* Maintain job files, raise documentation, and update transport management systems
* Liaise with clients to provide quotations, confirm bookings, and resolve operational issues
* Negotiate rates and manage relationships with carriers and suppliers
* Work closely with internal sales teams to assist with quotations and service delivery
* Ensure excellent service levels, meeting client expectations and handling any service issues promptly
* Complete invoicing on job completion and maintain performance statistics
* Participate in regular operations and sales meetings to review workload and team activity
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in UK transport or European freight forwarding operations is essential
* Hands-on warehouse experience with a valid forklift licence (or willingness to undertake training)
* Strong customer service and sales skills, including rate negotiation and quotation delivery
* Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail
* Able to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
* Proactive and self-motivated with a strong team ethic
Role Highlights:
* Salary circa £34,000, dependent on experience
