Job Description
We are working on behalf of a well-established client located in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, who is looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager – Groundworks to oversee multiple regional projects. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong focus on health & safety, project delivery, and team coordination within groundworks and civils projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Enforce and monitor industry-standard health & safety procedures across all projects
* Manage works involving groundworks, roads, sewers, earthworks, and plotworks
* Oversee civils projects, including bulk earthworks, remediation, drainage, hard landscaping, and surfacing
* Prepare, monitor, and maintain technical documentation, programmes, and reports
* Lead, motivate, and coordinate site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams
* Represent the organisation at senior-level meetings, presenting updates and reports
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role, with experience in groundworks
* Strong knowledge of roads, sewers, civils, and earthworks
* Willingness to travel to other sites as and when required
* Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word, and MS Project
* Outstanding communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
* Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, planning, and reporting
* Professional, personable approach to clients and stakeholders
