Domestic Assistant - Open Door

Contract Type: 15 hours per week, 3 hours per day

Are you passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in a supportive environment? Join our friendly, dedicated team at Open Door, a vital Night Shelter service offering ensuite accommodation for 12 single homeless individuals in St Albans for up to 28 nights.
As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the shelter remains a clean, safe, and welcoming space for our guests. Your work will directly support the wellbeing of individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including cookers, sinks, and worktops
Clean floors, skirting boards, doors, and internal windows
Disinfect bathrooms, toilets, showers, and communal areas
Dust, polish, vacuum, and empty bins in shared spaces
Clean empty rooms and office areas as needed
Monitor and request cleaning supplies under the direction of the Scheme/Operations Manager
Perform laundry duties (e.g., washing towels, bedding, tea towels)
Keep external areas tidy, including refuse zones and car parks
Ensure COSHH safety data sheets and equipment usage are up to date and compliantWhat We Are Looking For
