Information Communications Technician Apprentice

Apprenticeship length: 19 months (Information Communications Technician Level 3)
Salary: £14,722 a year (for the first 12 months and then NMW)
Main duties of the role
* Support customer incidents and service requests.
* Resolve basic technical issues via remote access.
* Communicate proactively with users about open incidents or problems, ensuring that issues are resolved or a workaround is provided within the shortest possible timeframes.
* Accurately record information from callers, end users and third‑party service providers on the Service Desk System.
* Assist in triage and prioritisation of calls.
* Provide troubleshooting and first‑time fix when possible.
* Escalate to the most appropriate team or organization if unable to provide resolution.
* Create or administer user accounts or passwords.
* Assist in allocating appropriate user training.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent).
* English and maths to Grade C/4 or equivalent such as Level 2 Functional Skills.
Length and/or nature of experience
* Experience in using Microsoft Office.
Professional / Managerial / Specialist knowledge
* Good understanding of IT, operating systems and applications including MS Windows and Office products and related devices.
* Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and security requirements.
* Ability to work flexibly.
* Good understanding of IT hardware technologies.
