Electrical Design / Controls Engineer Industrial Automation | Greater Manchester | Package inc bonus + profit share An established industrial automation business in the Greater Manchester area is looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of control systems and automation projects. The company designs and upgrades industrial control systems, builds electrical control panels and delivers automation solutions for sectors including process industries, manufacturing and food production. This role will appeal to engineers who enjoy working on complete automation systems, from electrical design through to installation and commissioning. The role The position is primarily focused on electrical design for control panels and automation systems, working closely with the software and automation engineers within the business. Responsibilities include: • Electrical design of industrial control panels • Producing electrical schematics and documentation • Supporting panel builds within the electrical workshop • Occasional customer liaison and site visits • Working alongside software engineers delivering PLC-based systems Electrical design is currently carried out using 2D AutoCAD, however the company is open to introducing EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical or similar depending on the preference of the incoming engineer.
