An enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced person is required to join Perth & Kinross Council's Roads Infrastructure Team within Economy, Planning and Development.

This exciting post provides an interesting opportunity to be a vital part of a small team which delivers Capital funded roads related infrastructure projects, the most high profile of which is the £million Cross Tay Link Road which commenced construction in Summer .
Your main duties will involve assisting the team in the delivery, management and co-ordination of projects ensuring that the outputs meet programme, governance, contractual and financial requirements.
You will carry out site supervision duties ensuring that large roads related infrastructure are constructed to contract requirements, in accordance with planning consents and applicable environmental legislation.
You will be expected to prepare and check contract documents, procure services and manage contractual arrangements including tendering processes in the development and delivery and implementation of projects.
You will also be an effective communicator able to liaise with various affected stakeholders including members of the public, contractors, utility companies, statutory bodies (eg. SEPA) and community groups.
For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work on site for a minimum of 2 days per week with the arrangements for part time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree.

Requirements
As a minimum you must be qualified to HNC level in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate the equivalent experience in civil engineering, project management, contract management or other relevant discipline.
You must have a good working knowledge of health and safety legislation. You must also have demonstrable experience in supervising road construction projects to ensure a high level of quality and adherence to all relevant standards.
Experience of supervising, designing or managing roads infrastructure projects is essential.
Knowledge of current roads legislation and design standards is essential.
Experience of implementation of relevant health and safety standards and legislation is essential.
A full current driving licence is essential.
The Individual
