Placement Support Worker
* Hourly Rate: £16.35 PAYE
* Location: S70, Barnsley
* Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (Hybrid)
We are seeking a Placement Support Worker to join our Social Care Placement Team, which is currently experiencing increased pressure due to staff shortages. This role is critical in supporting the team to identify and maintain suitable placements for children and young people coming into the care of the local authority.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Find and match placements for children and young people coming into care.
* Keep spreadsheets and databases up-to-date with placement and provider information.
* Support contract completion and monitor compliance with independent fostering and residential providers.
* Process payments to providers accurately and promptly.
* Support the accreditation process for providers within the White Rose consortium.
* Conduct satisfaction surveys with providers to inform future planning.
* Maintain regular contact with independent service providers across the borough.
* Attend meetings and follow up on placement-related actions.
* Provide data and information for internal reports and external enquiries.
* Support placement panels and follow through on agreed actions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Resilience and experience in customer-facing or direct service roles in fast-paced, pressurised environments.
* Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, with particular availability until close of play on Fridays.
* Proficiency in communication and confident using Excel and platforms such as Mosaic.
* Possession of a live enhanced DBS and availability to start immediately.
* Knowledge of Care Planning regulations and recent amendments regarding out of authority placements.
* Strong skills in EXCEL and spreadsheet management.
