Job Title: Search Manager Department: Media Services - Technical
Salary: Competitive (subject to experience) - Salary range £33,000-£37,000
Hours: Full-time (Hybrid working available)
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Search Manager to join JACK RYAN in Glasgow.
This role is key to driving SEO strategy, campaign performance, and client satisfaction through innovative, data-driven approaches. The Search Manager will be responsible for developing and executing SEO strategies that align with client objectives and business goals. You will oversee aspects of SEO project delivery, lead client communications, and collaborate across teams to integrate SEO with broader marketing initiatives.
Lead and manage day-to-day SEO operations, overseeing implementation and ensuring all deliverables are on time, on budget, and of high quality.
Identify growth opportunities and create account plans in partnership with Account teams.
Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Client Services, Media, Content, and Creative teams.
Provide guidance and mentorship to the SEO team, fostering professional growth and skill development.
Conduct audits, analyses, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with clients.
Stay up to date with evolving search trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in SEO and digital marketing.
We’re looking for someone who will manage several internet marketing activities, focused on developing and executing search engine optimisation tactics and performance analysis, as well as content creation, ideation, planning and implementation.
You must have analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills as you will work on multiple projects simultaneously under strict timelines and budgets.
Prior account management and SEO experience.
Experience using complex software products such as SEMRUSH, Ahrefs, GSConsole, Google Marketing Platform products

Search Manager Qualifications / Skills & Experience
~ Ideally hold a Bachelor's Degree or hold an English A-Level (or Scottish equivalent) with a high pass; Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in evaluating digital performance and using measurement tools.
~ Proven writing ability with outstanding written English grammar, spelling and vocabulary.
~ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for relationship building.
~ Process-driven, following a structured quality management system.
~ Strong Microsoft or Google Suite skills (Docs, Sheets), including formatting and knowledge and experience of other systems such as Google Sheets.
~3-5+ years of experience in SEO, search engine marketing and/or website management/development, experience integrating SEO into other marketing/advertising channels
~ An understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash and other rich media technologies, and advanced web analytics experience
~ Experience with keyword research/data mining tools and competitive analysis
~ Experience with project and resource management
~ Have a passion for online marketing and enterprise-level problem-solving capabilities for clients, specific to SEO
~ Advanced problem-solving skills for websites and technical SEO implementation experience, including on-page SEO factors and site architecture improvements, along with knowledge of content management systems
