Purpose of Role
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Facilities Manager to support the operational delivery of Hard FM services at the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop.
Job Description
Working closely alongside the Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will support the delivery of engineering and maintenance services across the site while helping drive service performance, compliance, and operational efficiency. A key focus of the role will be managing and coordinating the PPM programme through the CAFM system, ensuring planned and reactive works are completed in line with contractual SLAs and KPIs. The role also involves daily engagement with subcontractors, engineers, and site teams, supporting operational reporting, raising purchase orders and billable works, and assisting with health & safety compliance across the airbase. Candidate must be able to drive.
Responsibilities
•Support the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day delivery of Hard FM services across site
•Coordinate and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
•Use Maximo CAFM (or similar systems) to log, track, and manage PPMs and reactive tasks
•Liaise daily with subcontractors, engineers, and operational teams
•Raise purchase orders, quotations, and support billable works administration
•Produce reports demonstrating compliance against contractual SLA and KPI targets
•Assist with operational administration and service performance monitoring
Essential Qualifications/Skills
•Understanding of PPM coordination and maintenance planning
•Proven contract or subcontractor management exposure
•Experience using CAFM systems such as Maximo would be advantageous
•Strong IT skills including Outlook, Excel, and basic data reporting
•Good organisational and communication skills
•Eagerness to develop within a Facilities Management career pathway
•Full UK driving licence and confidence driving on operational sites
