Operator (SES) – Temp to Perm
We are seeking reliable and motivated Operators to join our Strip Etch Line team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a nightshift role within a fast-paced production environment, offering full training and long-term development opportunities.
About the Role
1. Contract Type: Temp to Perm
2. Training Schedule: Days, 06:00–18:00 (40 hours over 4 days: three 12-hour shifts + one 8-hour shift)
3. Pay: £13.97 per hour
4. Nightshift Hours: 18:00–06:00
5. Training: Full on-the-job training alongside an experienced operator and Technical Engineer
The Strip Etch Line is a new semi-automated conveyor system used to remove excess copper and create PCB features. The role involves some chemical handling; all required PPE is supplied.
Key Responsibilities
6. Read and interpret route cards accurately to match job requirements
7. Set up machinery according to job specifications
8. Follow SOPs precisely, including verbal and written instructions
9. Ensure jobs are completed correctly, safely and on time
10. Learn and undertake basic machine maintenance
11. Handle boards carefully to avoid damage
12. Prioritise workload to maximise throughput and efficiency
Person Specification
13. Excellent attention to detail
14. Ability to remain focused on repetitive tasks
15. Able to meet daily production targets
16. Gentle and careful handling of sensitive components
17. Quick learner with a willingness to develop
18. Good verbal and written English
19. Flexible with shifts and overtime
20. Hardworking and able to work well within a team
Progression A skills matrix is in place, with grading from A to B following successful completion of a 6-month probation period.
