Consumer Servicing & Engagement (CS&E) Platform delivers a unified digital servicing proposition for personal customers on the device of their choosing, giving the best digital customer experience to increase engagement and options for self‑service. We build deeper, more trusted relationships with our customers and help them improve their financial lives by offering valuable, engaging, and human‑like digital banking experiences.
Work pattern: hybrid; spend at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at the Bristol office.
What you’ll do
* Act as a technical data lead within the Engagement platform.
* Work with various engineering teams to deliver group‑level data programs.
* Propose and coach teams to follow industry best practices and align with the group’s data strategy.
* Create data strategy with other data architects and help engineering teams implement it in individual labs.
* Deliver proof‑of‑concepts to create new cloud‑native data patterns for wider adoption.
* Own and continually improve our current data estate to simplify it and reduce cost.
* Ensure compliance with financial‑industry data classification and work with business and technology teams to adopt it.
* Represent CS&E in various data forums.
* Run the CS&E data working group with lead architects, CTO, business functions, and other stakeholders.
What you’ll need
* Hands‑on proven experience of delivering systems design, software development, testing and operational stability.
* Proven experience and knowledge of automation and CI/CD.
* Proficiency in Python, PL/SQL and other relevant programming languages and frameworks.
* Experience with large‑scale data sets, data pipelines and cloud platforms (Google Cloud). Knowledge of Azure or AWS is desirable.
* Experience with distributed systems and event‑driven architecture.
* Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Strong experience working with Kafka technologies.
* Experience running data architecture working groups with deliveries external to the immediate team.

* Experience in data estate and technology simplification.
* Proficiency across the data lifecycle management.
* Experience hiring, recognising and developing emerging talent.
* Knowledge of Agile and SAFe principles.
