Machine Operative
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Machine Operative to join our well-established client based in Irlam, Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great benefits and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 (rotating weekly)
Pay rate: £13.21 per hour. Overtime after 37.5 hours is £18 per hour.

Day-to-day duties: As a Machine Operative, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
* Review specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold and page or sheet size.
* Enter cutting positions in proper order into computer memory.
* Remove sheets of printed or unprinted paper stack from the load and place them on the cutter bed. Jog and align sheets against the cutter guide in preparation for cutting.
* Activate computer to move sheets into first cut position. Activate double hand switches to begin cutting operation.
* Examine cut material for any imperfections and adjust computer program as needed.
* Remove finished or pre-finished material from the cutter bed and stack on pallets for shipment to the customer or next operation.
* Record job information on load tags and time sheets.
Essential skills: To be successful as a Machine Operative, you will need:
* Previous machine operation and machinery skills
* Previous experience working on a cutting machine is an advantage.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience operating a cutting machine.
* Quality control expertise
* Proficiency in using hand tools
* Strong communication skills
* The ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Wanting to progress within the company.
* Math skills; GCSE C / Grade 5 and above.
* PC Skills
* Being able to deal with time frames and high pressure.
* Manual handling involved up to 25kg.
* Must be able to get to the site for 0600am. And have transport to get home at 2000.
* Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
* Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
