Protocol Education is recruiting a caring Pupil Support Assistant to join an Academy in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, starting September 2025.
This role offers the chance to support children and young people with special educational needs across all key stages, from Reception to Sixth Form, helping them access education and thrive in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
5. Attend to pupils’ personal and physical needs, including hygiene, health, and welfare, using manual handling techniques when trained
6. Support pupils’ safety and learning access, encouraging independence and social interaction
7. Assist with preparing equipment and resources and supporting the curriculum delivery
8. Maintain hygiene and support midday care, including feeding and playtime activities
9. Support behaviour management and contribute to record keeping and communication
10. Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies
11. Participate in training, meetings, and supervision duties during and outside lesson times
Who we’re looking for:
12. Ability to form positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents
13. Excellent verbal and listening communication skills
14. Organisational skills and ability to work positively under pressure
15. Competency in manual handling including hoisting (when trained)
16. Standard level of education
17. ideally 5 GCSEs or equivalent (desired)
18. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Support for Learning or equivalent (desired)
19. First Aid qualification (desired)
