Senior Electrical Engineer – Building ServicesLocation: Cardiff / BristolJob Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary: Competitive (dependent on experience)Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services | Overview An opportunity is available for a Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services to join an established engineering consultancy team in Cardiff or Bristol offices. The Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services will deliver electrical design across multiple sectors, supporting project delivery, client engagement, and team development within a multidisciplinary environment.| Key Responsibilities
* Deliver electrical building services design across all RIBA Stages 0–6
* Lead and coordinate building services engineering projects
* Manage project programmes, resources, and technical delivery
* Develop and maintain client relationships and stakeholder communication
* Oversee quality assurance (QA) and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
* Support and mentor junior and intermediate engineers
* Undertake site inspections, commissioning support, and technical reviews
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams including mechanical and BIM
| Technical Skills
* Low Voltage (LV) distribution and switchgear design
* Cable sizing and calculations (Amtech, ElectricalOM)
* Generator systems, transformers, and UPS systems
* Lighting design (Dialux, Relux)
* Fire alarm systems and life safety systems
* High Voltage (HV) infrastructure and private networks
* CAD software and BIM / Revit coordination
| Requirements
* Minimum 5+ years electrical building services design experience
* Proven experience in project leadership and team coordination
* Membership with CIBSE or IET, or working towards membership
* Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
* Experience delivering projects across multiple sectors within building services
