WHAT TO EXPECT
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity within JLR to join the Material Handling Operations team on a fixed term 1 year contract to support the rollout of SAP S4 Hana as our lead operational platform across the business. This will entail supporting the full life cycle implementations of SAP S4 HANA in the area of Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
The Material handling Operations team that you will be joining sits within the Manufacturing Logistics team who report into the plant director at Halewood. The purpose of the Operations team is to manage the daily operations of all the Material flow within the factory including configuring Market Places, Material flow streams, all Material flow processes including receiving, sequencing and line feed, and all the associated systems interactions with the MRP system etc.
The successful candidate will ideally be someone with experience in leading or supporting the successful delivery of logistical and supply chain projects within the automotive space or other manufacturing environment and preferably will have knowledge of SAP EWM or similar warehouse management tools
Once the new systems and processes are developed and operational, the successful candidate will support the implementation and transition from the legacy systems, ensuring minimal impact to plant and zero production downtime.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Lead the EWM Implementation team, generating and managing the project plan and implementation plan
2. Lead the Containment and Correction team during launch to capture defects and fix
3. Liaise with Supplier assurance teams to ensure accuracy of Data
4. Work alongside Logistics planners to ensure configuration and structure or the warehouse is correct and suitable for implementation to tight timelines.
5. Support UAT testing for all new Software Elements as appropriate.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
In order to be considered for this role, you must have Operational or Planning experience in an Automotive and/or Warehouse environment. You must also have an understanding of Supply Chain Processes. We are looking for someone who is able to use this type of software, not someone who writes it. If you have experience in leading and coordinating a team, especially surrounding logistics and rollout of projects, this will absolutely give you an edge.
Essential:
6. Operational or Planning Experience in Automotive / warehousing environments
7. A background in Supply Chain processes
8. First class stakeholder management and communication skills
9. Knowledge in Automotive Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehouse or Manufacturing process
10. Driving process improvement activities, Testing,, Cutover, Training
11. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and the ability to extract and analyse data
